I look after the network and device infrastructure at M3 Technology Solutions: about 650 Teltonika routers, 2,200 slot machine interface boards, and 3,600 kiosks, live in casinos and hospitality sites across the U.S., Canada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. My job is keeping all of it connected, secure, and up to date.
I also co-founded Cortex Innovations, a web development company here in Oklahoma. We build websites and keep them running: design, development, hosting, and everything after launch.
The day job
Most mornings start the same way: pull up Teltonika RMS and SureMDM and look for anything abnormal. A cluster of devices offline somewhere, notification rates climbing, a site burning through its cellular data. Catching those early is most of the battle.
From there, the work is a mix. VLANs and firewall rules on Teltonika routers (RUTX11s, RUT360s, RUTM50s). LTE failover for sites where the primary line can't be trusted. OS and firmware updates pushed to SMIBs over MDM. Escalations land on my desk when the question is about networking, or about what a SMIB is actually doing under the hood.
I sit in the service office and take tier 1 calls alongside the tier 2 escalations that are technically mine. Customers get helped faster that way.
If I had to pick a favorite part, it's the Teltonika side. I took their Fundamentals training and got certified in 2025, and I genuinely like the hardware. There's a real satisfaction in keeping a fleet of 650 routers healthy.
A catch I'm proud of
In 2023 I was at a customer's facility in Nebraska, chasing a problem that was hitting SMIBs across our entire field. Boards would freeze and stop talking to their slot machines. One of our senior developers and I spent hours combing through affected devices, and while watching the backend of one, I noticed its memory climbing fast right before it locked up. That was the answer: a memory leak in the code, and now we knew where to look. The fix rescued the roughly 700 boards we had in the field at the time. The fleet is past 2,200 today, and that failure hasn't come back.
Cortex Innovations
I co-founded Cortex Innovations in 2026 with a business partner. The client list runs from medical practices to non-profits, plus a couple of products of our own, and we stay on after launch to host and manage everything we build.
One build I can talk about in detail is Sooner Spectator, a college football magazine covering OU sports, in print since 2005. I've managed the site since 2019 and rebuilt it from Wix into a fully custom static site with its own login system, admin panel, user profiles, and PayPal subscriptions, running on Cloudflare Pages, Workers, and D1.
